Benedictine Mesa opened the 2026 season with a 2-0 loss to Oregon Tech on Aug. 28. The Redhawks were limited to three shots, with Cassandra Sandoval accounting for two, while Rebecca Tomerlin recorded the team’s lone shot on goal. Goalkeeper Nenna Ford faced the bulk of the action and finished with nine saves.

Ford’s performance has placed her among the early conference leaders in goal. She ranks fourth in the GSAC with nine saves and fourth with an .818 save percentage. As a team, Benedictine Mesa leads the conference with 11.00 saves per game and ranks second with an .818 save percentage.

The Redhawks have one match on the schedule this week, facing Southern Oregon at 6 p.m. PT Saturday.

No. 3 Embry-Riddle continued its unbeaten start with a 4-0 victory over Oregon Tech on Aug. 30, improving to 2-0 and extending its winning streak to two matches. The Eagles established season highs with four goals, three assists, 11 points and eight corner kicks while generating 26 shots and putting 11 on goal.

Jamie Brandon and Tessa Updegraff each scored twice in the victory. Brandon recorded eight shots, including four on goal, and scored the game-winner on her way to GSAC Offensive Player of the Week honors. Updegraff added four points on five shots, while Leah Barone assisted on two of the Eagles’ four goals. Maile Kahele made two saves in the shutout.

Embry-Riddle has established itself among the conference leaders at both ends of the field. The Eagles lead the GSAC with 29.50 shots per game, a 0.50 goals-against average and an .833 save percentage. They rank second in goals per game (3.50), assists per game (2.00), points per game (9.00), shots on goal per game (11.50) and corners per game (6.00).

Brandon also continues to climb the conference’s active career lists. She has 31 career goals, 76 points and 189 shots, ranking fifth in career goals and points and sixth in shots. Her 86 shots on goal rank 12th, and her six game-winning goals rank 14th. Brandon enters the week one assist shy of 15 for her career. Embry-Riddle returns to action at 7 p.m. PT Thursday against Southern Oregon.

Hope International opened its season with a 2-1 loss to College of Idaho on Aug. 29. Angely Puga provided the Royals’ goal and finished with three shots, while Karissa Frerichs recorded the assist. Hope International generated 12 shots and put five on goal.

Victoria Ruiz made six saves in goal and enters the week ranked sixth in the GSAC in saves with a .750 save percentage. The Royals rank third in the conference with 6.00 saves per game and are tied for fourth with 5.00 corners per game.

Frerichs continues to rank among the GSAC’s active career leaders. Her five career game-winning goals rank 21st, while her 13 goals rank 40th and 39 shots on goal rank 47th. Ruiz has nine career goalkeeper victories, leaving her one shy of 10, and ranks 13th among the conference’s active career leaders in wins. Her five career shutouts rank 20th.

Hope International has two matches this week, beginning against Stanton at 2 p.m. PT Thursday. The Royals then meet La Sierra at 5 p.m. PT Tuesday.

La Sierra split its two matches last week to improve to 2-1. The Golden Eagles fell 3-0 to Stanton on Aug. 26 before responding with a 2-1 victory over Pacific Union on Aug. 30.

Bianca Ahumada and Danae Burroughs scored against Pacific Union, with Burroughs providing the game-winning goal. Priscila Alzaga recorded the assist. Ahumada was La Sierra’s most active attacking player during the week, totaling eight shots and four shots on goal. She produced four shots in each match and put three on goal against Pacific Union.

La Sierra ranks third in the GSAC with 14.00 shots per game and 7.50 shots on goal per game. The Golden Eagles are also averaging 5.00 corner kicks per match. Burroughs is tied among the conference leaders with one game-winning goal.

La Sierra begins the week against Providence (MT) at 7 p.m. PT Thursday before facing Hope International at 5 p.m. PT Tuesday.

Life Pacific split a pair of matches last week, earning its first victory of the season with a 3-0 shutout of Westcliff on Aug. 26 before falling 2-0 to Southern Oregon on Aug. 29. The Warriors enter the week at 1-1-1 overall.

Life Pacific established several early season highs in the victory over Westcliff, finishing with three goals, three assists and nine points. Kayley Buchanan scored and finished with two points, while Scarlett Rivera recorded the game-winning goal. Mayllery Rodriguez contributed two assists. Stevie Spencer also scored and helped anchor a defense that limited Westcliff to five total shots, earning GSAC Defensive Player of the Week honors.

Natalie Retama totaled seven saves during the two-match week, including four against Westcliff and three against Southern Oregon. She enters the week ranked third in the GSAC with nine saves and fifth with a 1.00 goals-against average. Life Pacific ranks second in the conference with a 1.00 team goals-against average.

Rodriguez is tied for seventh in the conference with two assists, while Rivera is among the GSAC leaders with one game-winning goal. The Warriors return to action against Oregon Tech at 11 a.m. PT Friday before facing Simpson at 10 a.m. PT Sunday.

Park Gilbert produced the conference’s most successful week, going 3-0 and improving to 4-1 overall. The Buccaneers defeated Nelson (AZ) 6-2 on Aug. 27, rolled past Justice 11-0 on Aug. 29 and completed the week with a 3-0 shutout of Stanton on Aug. 31. Their three-match winning streak is the longest active streak in the GSAC.

The Buccaneers scored 20 goals during the three-match stretch and established several season highs. Park Gilbert recorded 11 goals, nine assists, 31 points and 25 shots on goal against Justice, while its 46 shots and 18 corner kicks against Nelson (AZ) were also season highs.

Ava Fike continued her strong start with three goals during the week. She enters the week as the GSAC leader with five goals, 23 shots, 12 shots on goal and two game-winning goals while ranking second with 11 points. Fike recorded five points against Justice and had seven shots against Nelson (AZ).

Yadira Bernal totaled eight points during the week and leads the GSAC with 12 points and four assists while ranking third with four goals. She scored twice and finished with five points against Justice. Sarai Mizzell ranks second in the conference with four goals and 17 shots and third with nine points, while Darienne Thompson ranks third in assists, shots and shots on goal.

Park Gilbert’s production extends well beyond its individual leaders. The Buccaneers lead the GSAC in goals per game (4.80), assists per game (3.80), points per game (13.40), shots on goal per game (14.60) and corners per game (10.60), while ranking second with 28.20 shots per game.

Journey Morimoto has also moved among the conference’s goalkeeper leaders, ranking second with 13 saves, fourth with a 1.00 goals-against average and fifth with a .765 save percentage. Morimoto has nine career goalkeeper victories and needs one more to reach 10. Bernal has entered the GSAC’s active career top 50 in both game-winning goals and assists, ranking No. 38 with three game-winners and No. 44 with eight assists.

Soka played three matches last week and went 1-1-1 to move to 1-1-1 overall. The Lions fell 3-1 to College of Idaho on Aug. 26, played Westcliff to a scoreless draw on Aug. 29 and closed the stretch with a 4-0 victory over Providence (MT) on Sept. 1.

The victory over Providence represented Soka’s best offensive performance of the young season. The Lions produced four goals and 10 points while generating 18 shots, including 10 on goal. Sabrina Benjamin was Soka’s most consistent attacking threat during the week, totaling two goals, 11 shots and seven shots on goal. She had six shots and put four on goal against Providence.

Benjamin ranks fourth in the GSAC with seven shots on goal and sixth with 11 total shots. She is also tied among the conference leaders with two goals and four points. Jeanna Ceja recorded the game-winning goal against Providence.

Soka has also been among the conference’s stronger defensive teams early in the season. The Lions rank third in the GSAC in goals-against average (1.00) and save percentage (.800), along with ranking third at 5.67 corner kicks per game. Lillian Dukes is second individually with an .875 save percentage, third with a 0.53 goals-against average and fifth with seven saves.

Soka has one match this week, facing Clarke at 10 a.m. PT Sunday.

The Master’s went 0-1-1 in its opening two matches, falling 3-2 to College of Idaho on Aug. 27 before earning a 2-2 draw with Occidental on Aug. 29.

Breanna Fajardo accounted for much of the Mustangs’ early offensive production. She scored once in each match and also recorded an assist in each contest, finishing the week with two goals, two assists and six points. Fajardo totaled eight shots, including five on goal, and enters the week ranked fifth in the GSAC in goals and points and fourth in assists.

The Master’s ranks third in the conference in goals per game (2.00), assists per game (1.50) and points per game (5.50). The Mustangs have also received strong production in goal. Katie Snow made 13 saves against College of Idaho and three against Occidental and leads the GSAC with 16 saves. Natalia Ramirez has a 0.00 goals-against average and 1.000 save percentage in her action, both the top marks in the conference.

Fajardo is also prominent on the GSAC’s active career lists. Her 18 career goals rank 24th, while her 51 points rank 21st, 142 shots rank 15th and 71 shots on goal rank 16th. She also has three career game-winning goals, two shy of five. Kegan Brunnemann has 18 career goals and 43 points, leaving her seven points shy of 50.

The Master’s continues nonconference play against Stanton at 5 p.m. PT Saturday before facing Westcliff at 5 p.m. PT Tuesday.
