ALISO VIEJO, Calif. — Embry-Riddle remains among the nation’s elite, checking in at No. 5 in the second regular-season STADIONIC NAIA Women’s Soccer Coaches’ Top 25 Poll released Wednesday.

The Eagles received one first-place vote in the latest national rankings. Embry-Riddle opened the season at No. 3 in the preseason poll and remained third in the first regular-season poll on Sept. 2.

Embry-Riddle has gone unbeaten since the previous poll, beginning the stretch with a scoreless draw against Southern Oregon on Sept. 3 before opening Great Southwest Athletic Conference play with three consecutive victories. The Eagles defeated OUAZ 8-0, Benedictine Mesa 10-1 and La Sierra 3-0.

Through its first six matches, Embry-Riddle owns a 5-0-1 record and has outscored its opponents 28-2. The Eagles have posted four shutouts, including three straight, and have not surrendered a goal since their season-opening 3-1 victory at Cumberland (Tenn.).

Embry-Riddle ranks among the top five nationally in shots, shots on goal and goals-against average. Senior forward Jamie Brandon has helped lead the attack with seven goals, including two game-winners, while putting 22 of her 41 shots on goal.

Wednesday’s ranking extends Embry-Riddle’s run in the NAIA Top 25 to 39 consecutive polls dating to Sept. 14, 2022. The Eagles have appeared in 97 NAIA polls all-time and have climbed as high as No. 3, a position they most recently held in the Sept. 2 poll.

The Master’s also continues to receive national recognition, earning votes for the second consecutive regular-season poll. The Mustangs began the year ranked No. 25 in the preseason poll before moving into the receiving-votes category on Sept. 2.

Keiser moved back into the No. 1 position with 17 first-place votes, followed by Marian at No. 2, Cumberlands at No. 3 and Indiana Wesleyan at No. 4.

The next NAIA women’s soccer national ranking is scheduled to be the first National Selection Committee Top 25 Poll.
