Win One, Lose One On Senior Day

Glendale, Ariz.- In their final doubleheader of the regular season, Arizona Christian Softball celebrated their seniors with a walk-off game one win before coming up short in game two.  All six seniors spent their entire collegiate career playing for ACU Softball and all earned NAIA and GSAC Scholar-Athlete honors.

Inside Game One
  • For one pitch, ACU started all six of their seniors 
  • Brooke Mays (only appearance in ACU career due to injuries), Fogleman, Joelle Dowdy, Kaitlin Terzakos, Brenna Henry, and Miles
  • The teams held each other scoreless through the first five half innings 
  • Bottom three- Fogleman singled and scored on an infield single by Miles
  • NUAZ claimed the lead at 2-1 in the fourth
  • Herrera singled with the bases loaded to plate Miles and pinch runner Madonia for a 3-2 edge
  • Down to their final out, the Warriors scored the equalizer
  • With Miles at third Herrera dropped a suicide squeeze that no one had a play on to easily score MIles in walk-off fashion

Inside Game Two
  • ACU had a runner in scoring position in the second (Fogleman walk, steal) but she was left stranded
  • The Warriors pulled off a double steal to score an unearned run in the third
  • Rachel Martin and Miles were left on base in the third
  • NUAZ added an insurance run in the seventh
  • ACU had runners at second and third in the seventh but a nice sliding catch ended the game
  • Butcher did her part including at one stretch throwing only eight pitches to straight six batters and getting five out
