2022-23 GSAC ALL SPORTS AWARD

Westmont Edges Vanguard for the All Sports Award

The GSAC All Sports Award will stay in Santa Barbara for the tenth straight season. Westmont College has defended its title again with a 9.18 point-average and will keep the trophy edging Vanguard University in the final standings. The Warriors were a half point higher than last years' mark.

The Warriors clinched the top spot with regular season championships in Women’s Volleyball, Women’s Soccer, Women’s Basketball and Baseball.  They also finished second in Men's Track and Field, Women’s Track and Field, Men’s Cross Country, Women’s Cross Country and Men's Tennis.

Vanguard University finished in second place (8.83 point-average) on the heels of three regular season championships in the sports of Men’s Volleyball, Beach Volleyball and Women’s Track and Field.  They also earned second place finishes in Women’s Basketball, Women’s Golf and Women’s Volleyball.

The Master’s University finished in third place in the standings, with a 8.68 point-average. The Mustangs won titles in Men’s Cross Country, Women’s Cross Country, Men’s Track and Field and Men’s Golf.

Arizona Christian University (7.62), Hope International University (7.26), OUAZ (6.78), Menlo College (6.66), Jessup University (6.03), San Diego Christian College (4.13) and Life Pacific University (4.00) round out the GSAC All Sports standings.

Schools are awarded 10 points for winning the conference title, 9 points for placing second and so on down the line.  Schools are also given one point for each sport they sponsor in the conference.  The total points are then divided by the number of sports to arrive at the scoring average.
