The GSAC All Sports Award presented by Duke's Restaurant in Huntington Beach will stay in Santa Barbara for the fifth straight season. Westmont College has defended its title yet again with an 8.42 point-average for the year and will keep the trophy beating Biola University and Vanguard University by 0.6 points in the final standings.
The Warriors clinched the top spot with championships in Women's Volleyball, Men's Soccer, Men's Track and Field, and Women's Track and Field. Westmont also had runner up finishes in Men's Cross Country and Men's Tennis.
Biola University and Vanguard University finished tied second place with a 7.82 point-average. The Lions captured three titles in Women's Soccer, Women's Basketball, and Softball, while the Eagles won the Women's Cross Country championship. The Eagles did add five runner-up finishes to their one title.
The Master's University (7.73), Hope International University (6.25) made the biggest improvement from last season increasing their score by 0.75, Arizona Christian University (5.32), Menlo College (5.21), William Jessup University (5.08), and San Diego Christian College (4.50) round out the GSAC All Sports standings.
Schools are awarded 9 points for winning the conference title, 8 points for placing second and so on down the line. Schools are also given one point for each sport they sponsor in the conference. The total points are then divided by the number of sports to arrive at the scoring average.
This is the fifth year Duke's in Huntington Beach has been a partner with the conference and sponsored the award.
