ALISO VIEJO, Calif. — The GSAC announced its Players of the Week presented by Athletic Solutions on Monday, recognizing seven student-athletes for their performances from Aug. 31-Sept. 6.
Park Gilbert swept the conference’s offensive women’s volleyball awards, while Hope International earned both soccer offensive honors. Arizona Christian claimed the defensive award in both men’s and women’s soccer. OUAZ’s Gloria Moye became the first repeat award winner of the 2026 season.
Women’s Volleyball
Attacker of the Week: Lainey Calvary, Park Gilbert
Calvary reached double figures in kills and hit at least .200 in each of Park Gilbert’s three matches during the week. The junior totaled 36 kills, 15 blocks and 45 points while helping the Buccaneers earn victories over Life Pacific and Lake Forest.
Calvary opened the week with 12 kills and five blocks in a five-set match against La Sierra. She delivered her most efficient performance against Life Pacific, recording a team-high 14 kills with only two errors on 23 attacks for a .522 hitting percentage. Calvary added 10 kills and six blocks in a four-set victory over Lake Forest.
The Spokane, Washington, native finished the week averaging 2.57 kills, 1.07 blocks and 3.2 points per set while hitting .316 across 14 sets.
Setter of the Week: Adrianna DeMario, Park Gilbert
DeMario directed the Park Gilbert offense with 124 assists across three matches. The senior setter averaged 8.86 assists per set and committed only two setting errors during the week.
The Gilroy, California, native opened with 35 assists, 11 digs and three service aces against La Sierra. She then recorded 46 assists and 10 digs in a five-set victory over Life Pacific, giving her a second consecutive double-double.
DeMario closed the week with 43 assists and eight digs as the Buccaneers defeated Lake Forest in four sets. She finished the three-match stretch with 29 digs, nine kills, eight blocks and five service aces in addition to her 124 assists.
Defender of the Week: Gloria Moye, OUAZ
Moye earned Defender of the Week honors for the second consecutive week after helping OUAZ defeat No. 17 The Master’s in five sets.
The senior middle blocker from Surprise, Arizona, totaled eight blocks, including one solo block and seven block assists. She averaged 1.60 blocks per set and helped force additional attack errors as the Spirit secured the upset victory.
Moye also contributed seven kills, one dig and 11.5 points. She has recorded 23 total blocks over her last four matches while earning back-to-back conference awards.
Men’s Soccer
Offensive Player of the Week: Matthias Alcaraz, Hope International
Alcaraz accounted for all five of Hope International’s goals as the Royals earned victories over Westcliff and College of Idaho.
The junior midfielder from Murrieta, California, opened the week by scoring twice in a 2-1 victory at Westcliff. His first goal came on a bicycle kick before he delivered the game-winner in the 70th minute with a finish inside the right post.
Alcaraz followed with a second-half hat trick in a 3-1 victory over College of Idaho, becoming the 12th player in program history to score three goals in a match. He finished the week with five goals, 10 points, 14 shots and nine shots on goal.
Alcaraz scored both game-winning goals and converted 35.7% of his attempts. His five-goal week moved him into the GSAC lead with six goals this season.
Defensive Player of the Week: Dustin Rogers, Arizona Christian
Rogers turned away all six shots he faced as Arizona Christian played Oregon Tech to a scoreless draw.
The junior goalkeeper recorded six saves over 90 minutes to preserve his first shutout of the season. Rogers finished with a 1.000 save percentage while helping the Firestorm withstand the Oregon Tech attack on the road.
Women’s Soccer
Offensive Player of the Week: Angely Puga, Hope International
Puga became the fourth player in Hope International program history to score four goals in a match, leading the Royals to a 6-0 victory over Stanton.
The senior forward from Pasadena, California, became the first Royal since 2017 to produce a four-goal performance. She scored three times during the opening 28 minutes before completing her historic outing with another goal in the 64th minute.
Puga recorded her four goals in only 46 minutes of action. She scored on four of her match-high six shots and placed four attempts on goal, finishing the victory with eight points and the game-winning goal.
Defensive Player of the Week: Tayler Wonderly, Arizona Christian
Wonderly recorded eight saves to lead Arizona Christian to a 1-0 road victory over Carroll.
The senior goalkeeper stopped every shot she faced during 90 minutes in goal, finishing with a 1.000 save percentage. Her performance preserved the shutout and allowed the Firestorm to secure the victory with a one-goal margin.
The clean sheet was Wonderly’s first of the season.
