Another exciting week across the GSAC saw standout performances in baseball, softball, volleyball, tennis, golf, and track & field, with athletes delivering dominant efforts and milestone achievements. From explosive offensive showings to record-setting marks on the track, this week’s honorees demonstrated excellence in every facet of competition. These awards are presented by Athletic Solutions.
Baseball Player of the Week – Oliver Davies, Benedictine Mesa
Davies turned in an exceptional three-game stretch, hitting a blistering .667 while going 6-for-9 at the plate. The senior infielder recorded three doubles and a triple, totaling four extra-base hits and 11 total bases across the series against Justice College. He also added two RBIs and showed strong plate discipline, finishing with a .667 on-base percentage and 1.222 slugging percentage. Defensively, Davies was flawless, posting a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage with eight total chances. His consistent production at the plate and reliability in the field made him a key contributor despite the team’s mixed results on the week.
Baseball Pitcher of the Week – Casey Farrell, Arizona Christian
Farrell delivered a dominant outing on the mound in his lone appearance, throwing five shutout innings in an 18-0 victory over Bethesda. The junior right-hander allowed just two hits while striking out seven batters and issuing only one walk. Finishing with a 0.00 ERA and a stellar 0.60 WHIP, Farrell controlled the game from start to finish. His 12.6 strikeouts per nine innings highlights the effectiveness of his performance in securing the win.
Softball Player of the Week – Ryan Da Costa, Embry-Riddle
The freshman outfielder continued her strong debut season, leading Embry-Riddle to a 3-1 week while batting .462. Da Costa collected six hits over four games, scoring three runs and driving in one while adding two stolen bases. Her best performance came in a 7-2 win over Westcliff, where she went 3-for-4 with an RBI. With a .500 on-base percentage and consistent contact throughout the lineup, Da Costa proved to be a steady offensive presence for the Eagles.
Softball Pitcher of the Week – Claire Streeter, Embry-Riddle
Streeter was dominant in the circle, appearing in four games and logging 15.1 innings with a remarkable 0.91 ERA. The senior left-hander recorded 23 strikeouts while allowing just two earned runs, earning two wins and a save during the stretch. She showcased her endurance and command with two complete-game performances, including an 11-strikeout effort in a win over Westcliff. Streeter’s ability to control games and deliver in multiple roles anchored Embry-Riddle’s successful week.
Men’s Volleyball Attacker of the Week – Jarrett Spartz, Arizona Christian
Spartz led Arizona Christian to a pair of key victories, including a milestone win over Benedictine Mesa. The senior outside hitter tallied 34 kills across two matches, averaging 4.25 kills per set while hitting an impressive .390. His standout performance came in a five-set thriller against Benedictine Mesa, where he recorded 22 kills. Spartz also contributed defensively with nine digs and added five total blocks, showcasing his all-around impact.
Men’s Volleyball Setter of the Week – Matthew Hamm, The Master’s
Hamm guided the nation’s top-ranked team with precision, dishing out 67 assists over two matches, averaging 11.17 assists per set. His leadership helped secure two straight-set victories for The Master’s. In addition to his playmaking, Hamm contributed defensively with four blocks and nine digs. His consistency and ability to orchestrate the offense continue to set the tone for one of the top programs in the country.
Men’s Volleyball Defender of the Week – Travis Kelly, Benedictine Mesa
Kelly delivered a dominant defensive showing, highlighted by a career-high 14 blocks in a win over OUAZ. The junior middle blocker totaled 18 blocks across two matches, averaging 1.80 blocks per set. He also added 19 kills with an efficient .484 hitting percentage, demonstrating his value on both sides of the net. Kelly’s presence at the net proved critical in both matches during the week.
Men’s Tennis Player of the Week – Rafael Bonnet de Larbogne, Lewis-Clark State
Bonnet de Larbogne put together an impressive 2-1 week in singles play while remaining undefeated in doubles competition. His biggest victory came against Missouri Baptist, where he defeated the No. 22-ranked player in the NAIA in a three-set comeback. Competing primarily at the No. 2 position, the junior helped lead Lewis-Clark State to a key upset over No. 13 Missouri Baptist. His strong play in both singles and doubles was instrumental in the team’s success.
Men’s Golfer of the Month – Kyle Harford, La Sierra
Harford captured his first collegiate victory at the Soka Invitational, marking a major milestone in his career. The junior shot a 1-under 71 to claim the title in a field of 19 golfers. After missing the fall season due to injury, Harford has quickly returned to form, competing in just his third and fourth events of the year. Earlier in the season, he reached as high as No. 50 in the national rankings, signaling his potential moving forward.
Women’s Golfer of the Month – Charlotte Giffin, Embry-Riddle
Giffin delivered consistent performances across two events, including a strong showing at the Red Rocks Invite where she finished 14th in a competitive field of 68 golfers. She posted rounds of 74, 71, and 75 in the tournament. She also competed at the Spring Invite at Laughlin Ranch, finishing 11th. Her steady play continues to provide a reliable presence for Embry-Riddle in tournament competition.
Men’s Track Athlete of the Month – Jack Anderson, The Master’s
Anderson continues to establish himself as one of the top distance runners in the nation. The senior posted the No. 1 times in the NAIA this season in both the 1500m (3:47.05) and 5000m (13:57.42). He placed second in the 5000m at the Stanford Invitational against a field dominated by NCAA Division I athletes and also recorded runner-up finishes in the 3000m at nationals and the 10,000m at the UCLA Distance Carnival. His performances highlight his elite status on the national stage.
Women’s Track Athlete of the Month – Suzie Johnson, The Master’s
Johnson delivered a strong showing in the 1500m at the UCLA Bob Larson Distance Carnival, posting a time of 4:32.15, which ranks fourth in the NAIA this season. She also contributed to a first-place finish in the 4x800 relay at the Westmont Classic. Her ability to compete at a high level in both individual and relay events underscores her versatility and importance to The Master’s track and field program.
