ALISO VIEJO, Calif. -- Arizona Christian successfully defended its conference crown Saturday, capturing a second straight GSAC Women’s Track & Field Championship with a commanding all-around performance at Soka University. The Firestorm totaled 331 points across 22 scored events to secure the title, finishing well clear of runner-up The Master’s (164), while Park Gilbert (85.5), Embry-Riddle (78), and Simpson (71) rounded out the top five.
The top three finishers in each event earned 2026 GSAC All-Conference honors, recognizing the championship’s top performers alongside the team race.
After carrying a sizable lead into the final day, Arizona Christian removed any suspense early and continued to add to its margin with a dominant championship Saturday built on sprint strength, relay success, field-event depth, and continued scoring across nearly every discipline.
The Firestorm opened the day with a victory in the 4x100 relay, clocking 48.92 to set the tone. From there, Arizona Christian piled up points in the sprints, highlighted by India Green sweeping the 100 and 200-meter titles. Rylan Rhodes added runner-up finishes in both events, while Georgia Gomez placed in the 200 and 400 as Arizona Christian’s speed group fueled the title push.
Arizona Christian also controlled the relays, closing the meet with a victory in the 4x400 relay after opening the day atop the podium in the 4x100.
The Master’s countered with a strong distance showing, led by Suzie Johnson, who doubled in the 1,500 and 800 meters, while Presleigh Adam captured the 400-meter crown. Embry-Riddle made its biggest statement in the 5,000 meters, sweeping the top three spots behind champion Sophia Noriega.
Park Gilbert surged into third place behind standout performances from Mallory Turner and Leighton Simmons. Turner claimed titles in the 100 hurdles and 400 hurdles and added points in the high jump and 100 dash, while Simmons contributed heavily in both jumps and hurdles.
In the field, Arizona Christian’s depth continued to separate the Firestorm. Sedona Dietrich led a major scoring haul in both discus and shot put, while Goldyn Hall and Lucy Lovelace added crucial points in the triple jump. Across throws, jumps, hurdles and relays, Arizona Christian consistently stacked scoring performances, a formula that proved decisive throughout the three-day meet.
The Firestorm’s championship was built as much on depth as event wins, producing points across the board while winning individual titles in relays, sprints and combined events to repeat as conference champions.
