The GSAC has announced the 2026 Men’s Tennis All-Conference Team and individual award winners, presented by Under Armour. The honors recognize the top performers from across the conference following a competitive regular season, highlighted by Arizona Christian University earning the No. 1 seed for the upcoming GSAC Men’s Tennis Championship with a 12-6 overall record.
This year’s major award winners include Hugo Abril of Arizona Christian as Player of the Year, Sebastien Pérez of Hope International University as Freshman of the Year, Karan Srivastava of Hope International as Newcomer of the Year, and Phil Carlisle of Arizona Christian as Coach of the Year.
Hugo Abril of Arizona Christian was named GSAC Player of the Year after an outstanding senior campaign. Abril posted a 13-1 overall singles record, including a dominant 12-1 mark at the No. 1 position and a perfect 2-0 record in conference play. He also contributed in doubles with a 10-5 record, consistently competing in the top flights. Abril’s reliability at the top of the lineup played a key role in Arizona Christian securing the conference’s top seed.
Sebastien Pérez of Hope International earned Freshman of the Year honors following a solid debut season. Competing across both singles and doubles, Pérez recorded eight singles wins and added eight doubles victories. His ability to contribute in multiple lineup spots provided valuable depth for Hope International throughout the season.
Karan Srivastava of Hope International was selected as Newcomer of the Year after making an immediate impact. The junior compiled an 11-7 singles record and went 10-10 in doubles play, establishing himself as a consistent presence in the lineup. Srivastava’s experience and steady play were key factors in Hope International’s overall success.
Phil Carlisle of Arizona Christian was named GSAC Coach of the Year after leading the Firestorm to a 12-6 overall record and the No. 1 seed in the GSAC Championship. Under Carlisle’s leadership, Arizona Christian demonstrated strong depth and consistency across both singles and doubles competition, positioning the program as a conference frontrunner heading into postseason play.
The 2026 GSAC All-Conference Team reflects a broad distribution of talent across five institutions, including Arizona Christian, Hope International, Lewis-Clark State, OUAZ, and Stanton. Arizona Christian and Hope International led the way with multiple selections, while each of the remaining programs placed key contributors on the team, highlighting the league’s competitive balance.
International representation is a defining feature of this year’s All-Conference group, with student-athletes hailing from Europe, the South Pacific, and beyond. Combined with a mix of experienced upperclassmen and emerging underclassmen, the team underscores both the current strength and future trajectory of GSAC men’s tennis.
