GSAC Announces Weekly Players of the Week Across Spring Sports

The Golden State Athletic Conference has announced its latest Players of the Week honors, recognizing standout performances across baseball, softball, men’s volleyball, tennis, flag football, and beach volleyball. This week’s honorees delivered exceptional individual efforts while leading their teams to key victories in conference and non-conference play.
Baseball Player of the Week: Isaiah Morales – The Master’s
Isaiah Morales powered The Master’s offense in a series split against Park-Gilbert, delivering one of the top performances of the week. The senior shortstop went 10-for-19 (.526) with three home runs and nine RBIs, recording multiple hits in every game of the series. Morales extended his dominance at the plate with a 12-game hitting streak, nine consecutive multi-hit games, and a five-game multi-RBI streak. He finished the week with a 1.053 slugging percentage, serving as the driving force behind The Master’s offensive production.
Baseball Pitcher of the Week: Casey Farrell – Arizona Christian
Casey Farrell turned in a strong outing on the mound, leading Arizona Christian to a 9-2 win over La Sierra. The junior right-hander threw 6.0 scoreless innings, allowing six hits while striking out six. Farrell worked efficiently through traffic, issuing three walks but keeping La Sierra off the scoreboard to earn the win. He finished the week with a 0.00 ERA and 9.0 K/9, anchoring a key victory for the Firestorm.
Softball Player of the Week: Brianna Humphries – OUAZ
Brianna Humphries led OUAZ to a perfect 6-0 week with a dominant performance both at the plate and in the field. The redshirt junior hit .571 (8-for-14) with three home runs, eight RBIs, and nine runs scored, while drawing eight walks without striking out once. She posted a .727 on-base percentage and 1.357 slugging percentage. Defensively, Humphries was flawless at shortstop, recording a 1.000 fielding percentage on 15 chances, solidifying her impact on both sides of the game.
Softball Pitcher of the Week: Alexis Ayersman – OUAZ
Alexis Ayersman dominated in the circle, leading the Spirit to an undefeated week with four outstanding performances. The senior went 4-0, tossing 17.1 innings of shutout ball while allowing just nine hits and striking out 23 batters. She recorded two complete-game shutouts and finished the week with a 0.00 ERA and 0.69 WHIP. Her consistent command and ability to control games were key to OUAZ’s success.
Men’s Volleyball Attacker of the Week: Isaac Seltzer – The Master’s
Isaac Seltzer led The Master’s to two sweeps with a dominant offensive showing. He totaled 36 kills while hitting .508, averaging 6.00 kills per set with just six errors in 59 attempts. Seltzer also contributed six aces, 12 digs, and two blocks, showcasing his all-around ability.
Men’s Volleyball Setter of the Week: Matthew Hamm – The Master’s
Matthew Hamm directed one of the most efficient offenses of the week, helping The Master’s to a pair of victories. The senior recorded 69 assists, averaging 11.50 assists per set, while guiding the team to a .401 hitting percentage. He added 11 digs and two blocks, contributing across the board.
Men’s Volleyball Defender of the Week: Caeden Salmen – OUAZ
Caeden Salmen anchored the defense for OUAZ in a 2-0 week in conference play. He totaled seven blocks, 19 receptions, and eight digs, providing a steady presence both at the net and in the back row. His defensive efforts were key in securing two straight-set wins.
Men’s Tennis Player of the Week: Sebastien Dizon Perez – Hope International
Sebastien Dizon Perez played a crucial role in Hope International’s 6-3 win over San Diego City College, securing the match-clinching point. Competing at No. 5 singles, he earned a decisive 6-1, 6-1 victory, and also contributed with an 8-4 doubles win at the No. 2 position. His composure helped extend the Royals’ winning streak.
Women’s Tennis Player of the Week: Naiara Montero – Lewis-Clark State
Naiara Montero had a perfect week, leading the Warriors to two road victories. She went 2-0 in singles, including a three-set win over No. 20 Indiana Wesleyan, and followed with a dominant straight-set victory over Grace (Ind.). Montero also earned a key doubles win at the No. 1 position, defeating the No. 12-ranked NAIA pair, helping power Lewis-Clark State to a pair of 6-1 team wins.
Flag Football Offensive Player of the Week: Ariana Rivera – La Sierra
Ariana Rivera led a high-powered La Sierra offense to an undefeated week with an exceptional dual-threat performance. She threw for 892 yards and 14 touchdowns, completing 65.6% of her passes, and added 103 rushing yards with four touchdowns. Rivera accounted for 18 total touchdowns, including a five-touchdown performance against Arizona Christian. Her playmaking ability fueled wins over Benedictine Mesa, OUAZ, and Arizona Christian.
Flag Football Defensive Player of the Week: Makenzie McMillin – La Sierra
Makenzie McMillin led the defensive charge for the Golden Eagles with a standout week. She recorded 33 total tackles, averaging 11.0 per game, while adding four interceptions for 81 return yards and eight pass breakups. Her ability to disrupt opposing offenses was instrumental in La Sierra’s undefeated run.
Beach Volleyball Pair of the Week: Maya Blake & Eliana Dean – OUAZ
Maya Blake and Eliana Dean dominated at the No. 1 position, leading OUAZ to a perfect 4-0 week. The duo went 4-0, highlighted by a three-set victory over a top-ranked pair from No. 3 The Master’s. They added convincing straight-set wins against La Sierra, Life Pacific, and No. 6 Hope International. Now 17-2 on the season, Blake and Dean continue to establish themselves as one of the top pairs in the conference.
