ACU Powers Past Bethesda

Anaheim, Calif.- Behind a strong offensive showing and a dominant pitching performance on the mound, the Firestorm secured a 7-3 victory over Bethesda University on the road. Eastyn Culp was dominant in his six innings of work, allowing just two hits and striking out eight batters. The bullpen, led by Adams, Vickers, and Hohensee, kept Bethesda at bay, allowing only one more run the rest of the game.

Inside The Game
  • In the top of the first inning, ACU wasted no time, as they struck first as Tarver scored after Kane Kiaunis reached first base on an error. ACU led 1-0. 
  • Down by one run and with one runner on base, Marcus Sanders singled to center field, scoring Ivy. ACU tied the game, 2-2. 
  • With a runner in scoring position, Tarver hits a 2-run home run to right field, as Marcus Sanders scored. ACU extended their lead, 4-2. 
  • With two runners on base, Ivy doubled to left field, bringing in Edmonds and Logan Sanders to score. ACU extended their lead 6-2 in the top of the fifth inning. 
  • In the top of the sixth inning with two runners on base, Logan Sanders singled to center field, and Kiaunis scored on the play. The score was now 7-2. 
  • Bethesda scored another run in the eighth inning, making the score 7-3. 
  • Jackson Hohensee struck out all three batters in the bottom of the ninth inning, sealing the win. ACU won the game, 7-3.
