GSAC Announces Men's and Women's Basketball Players of the Week

The Golden State Athletic Conference announced its Men’s and Women’s Basketball Players of the Week on Monday, highlighting standout performances from Benedictine Mesa, Life Pacific, and The Master’s University. These awards are presented by Athletic Solutions. 
Men’s Basketball Offensive Player of the Week: Isaiah Howard – Benedictine Mesa – Jr., G
Isaiah Howard earns Men’s Offensive Player of the Week after leading Benedictine Mesa to two key wins, including the program’s first-ever victory over Arizona Christian. Howard scored 13 points against Embry-Riddle before posting 16 points in the historic win over ACU, finishing the week averaging 14.5 ppg on 40% shooting, including 50% from three and 84.6% at the line.
In addition to scoring, Howard directed the offense with poise, averaging 4.0 assists to just 1.5 turnovers for a 2.7 assist-to-turnover ratio. He also contributed 4.5 rebounds and 2 steals per game, showcasing a balanced two-way impact that helped fuel the Redhawks’ momentum.
Men’s Basketball Defensive Player of the Week: Kyjuan Cannady – Life Pacific – Sr.
Life Pacific’s Kyjuan Cannady claims Defensive Player of the Week after a dominant performance in a 78–69 win over La Sierra. Cannady delivered an 18-point, 12-rebound double-double while shooting 50% from the field and logging a full 40 minutes.
Defensively, Cannady was overwhelming, finishing with 7 defensive rebounds, 3 steals, and 3 blocks, controlling the paint and disrupting every phase of La Sierra’s offense. His physicality and defensive leadership set the tone in one of Life Pacific’s strongest outings of the season.
Women’s Basketball Offensive Player of the Week: Chloe Auble – The Master’s – Jr., G/F
The Master’s standout Chloe Auble earns Offensive Player of the Week after averaging 23.0 points on 50% shooting in two GSAC wins. She scored 21 points against OUAZ and followed with 25 at La Sierra, knocking down a combined 11 threes on 42.3% shooting from deep.
Auble’s efficiency and shot-making were central to TMU’s offensive dominance. She totaled 46 points across the week while adding four assists and four rebounds, consistently stretching defenses and providing reliable scoring from all levels.
Women’s Basketball Defensive Player of the Week: Alli VanKooten – The Master’s – Jr., C
Alli VanKooten earns Defensive Player of the Week after anchoring The Master’s with elite interior presence, averaging 13.5 rebounds, 3 steals, and 3 blocks per game. She posted 10 points and 9 rebounds against OUAZ before erupting for 18 points and 18 boards at La Sierra.
Her defensive performance was game-changing, controlling the paint and eliminating second-chance opportunities. VanKooten’s combination of shot-blocking, rebounding, and physicality made her the week’s most impactful defensive force while also providing strong offensive support at 14.0 ppg.
