The Great Southwest Athletic Conference (GSAC) announced its 2025 Women’s Soccer All-Conference Team Presented by Under Armour and annual award winners, headlined by The Master’s forward Maddy Traylor as both Player of the Year and Newcomer of the Year, and Embry-Riddle freshman midfielder Molly Newlin as Freshman of the Year. TMU head coach Esteban Chavez was named Coach of the Year after guiding the Mustangs to a 13-4-1 overall record and a 10-2-1 GSAC mark.
Traylor delivered one of the most dominant attacking seasons in GSAC history, totaling 26 goals and seven assists for 59 points, while scoring in 13 different matches and recording nine game-winners. She had five multi-goal performances, including a five-goal effort in a 10-0 win over OUAZ, and led a TMU offense that outscored opponents 66-13 and averaged 3.7 goals per game. Her 26 goals were more than double any other GSAC player this season, cementing her as the league’s top scorer and one of the most efficient finishers in the NAIA at a .234 conversion rate on 111 shots.
Newlin made an immediate impact in the midfield for Embry-Riddle, starting all 17 matches and totaling five goals and four assists for 14 points while contributing to a balanced Eagles attack that scored 74 goals during the regular season. The Granite Bay, California native twice scored game-winning goals and added steady playmaking presence in conference wins over OUAZ and Park Gilbert.
Chavez’s Mustangs were the class of the GSAC in 2025, finishing with a league-best +53 goal differential and producing six All-Conference selections. TMU’s balance on both ends of the field was reflected by a back line that allowed just 13 goals in 18 matches and recorded nine shutouts.
The 2025 All-GSAC First Team included standout performers from across the conference: Embry-Riddle’s attacking duo of Jamie Black and Jamie Brandon, Hope International’s Indi Stum and Jordan Galvin, Soka’s Sabrina Benjamin, and Park Gilbert’s Lauren Runnion headlined a deep forward group. Midfielders Samantha Wright, Tessa Updegraff, and Molly Newlin of Embry-Riddle joined The Master’s trio of Kegan Brunnemann, Zaria Echemendia, and Jane Hato. On defense, Embry-Riddle’s veteran Natalia Sepulveda and Hope’s pairing of Shelby Kain and Jordan Galvin anchored strong back lines, while Aubrianne Dupre of Embry-Riddle and Mackinzie Stenstrom of Soka earned goalkeeper honors after stellar seasons between the posts.
Together, the group represents the best of GSAC women’s soccer in 2025—a season defined by explosive scoring, veteran leadership, and the emergence of new stars across the conference.
