In a remarkable display of athleticism and team spirit, The Master's women's cross country team clinched their fifth consecutive GSAC title at the GSAC Women's Cross Country Championship held in Santa Clarita, Calif. The event saw a strong performance from various participating schools including Embry-Riddle and Arizona Christian, among others.
The Master's team scored a triumphant 17 points, significantly outpacing their nearest competitor, Embry-Riddle, who scored 48 points. Arizona Christian followed with 75 points, placing third in the overall team results. The 6-kilometer race not only tested the endurance of the athletes but also highlighted the strategic excellence of The Master's, which has now won its sixth overall GSAC title.
Hannah Fredericks, representing The Master's, led the individual accolades by finishing first with a time of 21:29.7, setting an impressive pace for the race. Teammates Emma Nelson, Ellen Palmgren, Suzie Johnson, Alyssa Lovett, Ella Howe, Erini Shaker, and Brooke Cregan also made significant contributions, all finishing in the top 14. This performance ensured that they were named to the All-Conference Team, a testament to The Master's depth and talent in their roster.
Emma Timmermans from Hope International finished second with her time of 21:58.3. Zoe Tizzard paced Embry-Riddle by placing fifth in 22:36.5 while Mia Kemp and Kylie Monson also made the All-Conference Team for the Eagles. Arizona Christian's Allena Fugatt secured her spot on the All-Conference Team by finishing 11th.
This victory secures The Master's a spot at the NAIA National Championship scheduled for November 22 in Columbia, Mo., where they will aim to extend their winning legacy on a national stage.
