This afternoon, the Oaks’ second game of the Cactus Classic ended in a 67-50 win over the Argonauts. The victory moves their record to 11-3 overall.

Menlo had a solid night shooting the ball, finishing with a 37.5% mark from the field (to Providence’s 27.4%) and 34.8% from three-point range (to Providence’s 18.8%). Menlo’s best individual shooting performance came from Khalid Price, who went 6-for-10 on the night, with all of his shots coming from beyond the arc. Perhaps the most impressive aspect of Price’s 18-point contribution is the fact that he was on the floor for just 15 minutes.

Landon Seaman played a significant role for Menlo, finishing with 12 points, 9 rebounds, and 3 assists. Incredibly, Seaman played fewer minutes than Price, compiling all of those points, rebounds, and assists in just 12 minutes.

Menlo established a physical presence in the game that powered them to victory, exemplified by the fact that they bested the Argonauts in total rebounds (40 to 26) and blocks (5 to 2). The Oaks are establishing themselves as a force to be reckoned with in the NAIA.

Tomorrow, Monday, December 19th, Menlo will play its final game of the Cactus Classic. Tipoff against Carroll College is scheduled for 3:00 PM PST.
