Junior Dayna Herrera delivered in the circle and at the plate during a dominant doubleheader sweep of Nelson University-Arizona.
In game one, Herrera tossed six scoreless innings, allowing just five hits while striking out seven to secure the win in a 7-0 shutout. The performance extended Arizona Christian University’s streak to three consecutive shutouts.
Offensively, Herrera was just as impressive, batting .625 (5-for-8) across the two games with two doubles and three RBI. She recorded at least one hit and one RBI in each contest, finishing the week with a .875 slugging percentage.
