Aliyah Gonzalez led the Royals’ offensive charge as Hope International remained tied atop the GSAC with wins over Arizona Christian and Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University Prescott. In an 80-72 victory against Arizona Christian, Gonzalez erupted for a career-high 26 points, hitting five three-pointers and tying her season best with nine rebounds. She shot 8-of-17 from the field and displayed confidence from deep, stretching the defense and opening up the floor for her teammates.
She added 13 points in a 70-50 win over Embry-Riddle, finishing the week with averages of 19.5 points and 4.5 rebounds per game. Gonzalez shot 48.0% overall and 42.9% from three-point range, continuing to prove herself as one of the conference’s most dynamic perimeter scorers. Her ability to score at all three levels and contribute on the glass played a key role in keeping the Royals at the top of the standings.
