Amira Austin powered Hope International to two key victories and claimed Women’s Basketball Offensive Player of the Week honors with a dominant all-around showing. The senior forward averaged 18.0 points and 15.0 rebounds per game while shooting 51.9 percent from the field. She recorded back-to-back double-doubles, scoring 17 points with 15 rebounds against The Master’s and following with a 19-point, 15-rebound performance versus Benedictine Mesa.
Austin’s consistency on the boards continued an impressive streak, as she has now posted double-digit rebounds in seven straight games. In addition to her scoring and rebounding, she added two blocks per contest and provided a steady interior presence on both ends of the floor. Her ability to control the paint and produce offensively was central to Hope International’s success during the week.
