Tristan Williams Award Player of the Week Week Of 1/15/2024 Sport Men's Basketball School Hope International Year Junior Position Hometown Mission Viejo, CA High School Mission Viejo HS A junior transfer in his second year from Fullerton College Williams led the Royals to two big wins over GSAC opponents Menlo and Jessup. Williams played every minute and was second on the team with 17 points going 7-for-12 from the field in a 76-72 win over Menlo. After trailing to the Oaks Williams was part of a 10-1 run where he hit the crucial free throws to put the Royals back ahead for the final time. Williams also led the Royals with four assists and nine rebounds in the win and came up with a key basket late after the Oaks had rallied within one. Then in the second game against Jessup he led the way with a season high 25 points on 6-for-11 shooting in a 98-93 OT win. After trailing for most of the second half Williams hit two big three pointers to keep the Royals within striking distance before they eventually closed the game on an 11-2 run to force overtime. Williams then came up with several big rebounds before hitting two crucial free throws to put the Royals back on top. Williams then finished the game from the line going 10-for-10. He also led the way with 4 assists and 6 rebounds.
