Allie Puente Award Pitcher of the Week Week Of 4/24/2023 Sport Softball School Hope International Year Junior Position Right-Handed Pitcher Hometown Fresno, CA High School Puente continued her great season helping the Royals win four games while making five appearances as they clinched the GSAC regular season Championship. In her first game she pitched two innings allowing one hit while striking out five before giving way to the bullpen as the Royals went on to defeat Antelope Valley 15-7. In her second outing against ACU she pitched 5 1/3 innings allowing three runs on six hits while striking out six before she had to leave early due to hydration issues. She bounced back in the second game of the doubleheader as she came in in relief and pitched the final 4 innings allowing just two hits and one unearned run while striking out three as she earned the victory in the Royals walk off win. Then against the Spirit in game one she was back in form pitching a complete game shutout 7 innings allowing just one hit and one walk while striking out 7. Then in the second game of the doubleheader she pitched the final two innings allowing two hits and striking out one as she earned her fourth save of the year. Overall she went 2-0 with one save and an ERA of 1.03 while striking out 22. Puente leads the NAIA in strikeouts with 310 and wins with 23, is third in ERA with a .65 and is tied for third in saves with four.
