    • Pitcher of the Week
      • Bennett Whitmore – Concordia
      • Sophomore – 6-3 – LHP – Fresno, Calif.
      • Senior left-hander Bennett Whitmore improved to 5-1 on the season with a 2.84 ERA after firing 7.1 shutout frames in Concordia’s 4-0 upset of No. 2-ranked Point Loma Nazarene. In the game, Whitmore gave up 2 hits and 4 walks while equaling a season-high with 10 strikeouts. Whitmore was named the NAIA Baseball Pitcher of the Week.

      • Matt Marnati – California Baptist
      • Freshman – 6-0 – Outfielder – Yucaipa, Calif.
      • Freshman Matt Marnati was 10-for-18 (.556) at the plate with 8 runs, 3 doubles, 6 RBI and 5 stolen bases as California Baptist swept No. 17 Azusa Pacific in last week’s 4-game series. In the Saturday doubleheader wins at Azusa Pacific, Marnati was 6-for-9 batting with 5 runs, 3 RBI and 2 stolen bases helping the Lancers snap a 10-game losing skid at Cougar Baseball Complex.

      • Erik Wallace – California Baptist
      • Sophomore – 6-0 – Pitcher – Moreno Valley, Calif.
      • Sophomore Erik Wallace of California Baptist earned a complete-game win by limiting No. 9-ranked Fresno Pacific, one of the NAIA’s highest scoring teams, to just 1 run and 6 hits in his first career complete game. The 9 strikeouts matches a career high.

      • Garrett Leon – Biola
      • Junior – 5-10 – Second Base – Fountain Valley, Calif.
      • Garrett Leon went 9-for-16 (.563) in 4 GSAC games against San Diego Christian last week, recording 2 home runs, 3 doubles, 10 RBIs and scoring 9 runs to lead Biola to a 4-0 record. In the first doubleheader, the junior went 5-for-9 with a home run and 2 RBIs, scoring 5 runs to lead the Eagles. In the return to El Cajon, Leon went 4-of-7. In the first game of the twin bill, he was a perfect 3-for-3 with a home run and 6 RBIs.

      • Brandon Dixon – Point Loma Nazarene
      • Senior – 6-4 – Pitcher – Irvine, Calif.
      • Brandon Dixon threw 8 solid innings against No. 9-ranked Fresno Pacific to earn the win for No. 2-ranked Point Loma Nazarene. The senior lefty allowed just 3 hits, 2 walks and 1 run to the Sunbirds while striking out 5. Dixon improved to 6-0 on the year and lowered his ERA to 2.72.

      • Brandon Young – Vanguard
      • Junior – 6-1 – Centerfielder – Saugus, Calif.
      • Junior Brandon Young batted .769 (10-for-13) with 3 home runs, 1 triple, 9 runs scored and 11 RBIs as Vanguard won 3-of-4 games against Biola last week. The centerfielder had 3 hits in each of the first 3 games. Young ripped 2 home runs, including a grand slam and a solo shot, in the first game of the Saturday doubleheader, leading the Lions with 7 RBIs in the 20-7 victory. Vanguard is currently in second place in the GSAC.

      • Steven Winnick – Point Loma Nazarene
      • Sophomore – 6-2 – Pitcher – San Diego, Calif.
      • Senior Steven Winnick from San Diego tossed 7 solid innings in a complete-game win for No. 12-ranked Point Loma Nazarene against Biola. He allowed just 2 hits and 1 unearned run in Sea Lion’s 2-1 win over the Eagles. Winnick fanned 5 and did not walk a batter.
    • Player of the Week
      • Tyler Pryor – Fresno Pacific
      • Junior – 5-10 – Outfielder – Fresno, Calif.
      • Junior Tyler Pryor was 5-for-8 (.625) at the plate, including 3 extra-base hits, as No. 20-ranked Fresno Pacific split a doubleheader on the road at Westmont. In the 2 games combined, the outfielder scored 4 runs with a double, 2 home runs and 6 RBI.

      • Robby Ross – Point Loma Nazarene
      • Junior – 6-3 – Pitcher – Irvine, Calif.
      • Robby Ross allowed just 1 earned run on 4 hits in a complete game at NAIA No. 9-ranked Vanguard. The lefty went 7 innings en route to a 9-3 win for No. 12 Point Loma Nazarene. Ross fanned 9 batters and walked only 2.
    • Player of the Week
      • Brice Cutspec – Azusa Pacific
      • Sophomore – 6-5 – First Base – Westminster, Calif.
      • Senior first baseman Brice Cutspec became the NAIA’s all-time career homerun leader when he hit his 73rd career home run, a game-tying solo blast in the bottom of the seventh of the second game of a doubleheader. Cutspec was walked 7 times by the NAIA’s No. 21-ranked Fresno Pacific in the 4-game series. In the series he was 4-for-10 (.400) with 3 runs, a double, a home run and 3 RBI.

      • Dean Persinger – Concordia
      • Junior – 5-11 – Pitcher – Fountain Valley, Calif.
      • Junior pitcher Dean Persinger carried a no-hitter through 7.1 frames in just his third start of the season. He gave up 3 hits, 1 earned run and 2 walks while striking out 5 batters in 8 innings of work to earn the win at Westmont.

      • Sophomore – 6-0 – Third Base – Temecula, Calif.
      • Sophomore Brian Sharp hit safely in all 4 games as No. 5-ranked California Baptist went 3-1 against Biola last week. He was 9-for-18 (.500) at the plate with 6 runs, 2 doubles, 2 home runs and 11 RBI. He had 2 doubles and 3 RBI in the first win against Biola. The third baseman hit 2 home runs, including a grand slam, and had 8 RBI in game one of the doubleheader on the road. Then he had 2 hits and 2 stolen bases in the nightcap to help the Lancers open a 3-game lead in the GSAC with 8 games remaining.

      • Freshman – 5-9 – Pitcher – Riverside, Calif.
      • Freshman Jesse Arreola made his second career start, his first since Feb. 5, and went 8 strong innings in a win for No. 5 California Baptist over No. 11 Vanguard. In the game Arreola gave up 6 hits, 5 of which were singles, and 1 earned run while striking out 6. His longest prior outing was 4 innings. He leads his team in appearances with all but 2 in relief situations.

      • Junior – 6-0 – Second Base – Kingsburg, Calif.
      • Junior Andrew Douglas was 10-for-21 (.476) at the plate with 2 doubles, 4 home runs and 13 RBI as Fresno Pacific won 3 out of 4 games against Biola last week. Douglas was 6-for-8 with 2 doubles, 3 home runs and 9 RBI in the high-scoring 31-19 win at Biola in the first game. In the doubleheader sweep over Biola in Fresno, he had 4 hits, 3 runs, a home run and 3 RBI.
