    • Player of the Week
      • Justin Johnson – Concordia
      • Junior – 6-2 – Guard – Tustin, Calif.
      • Junior Justin Johnson averaged 21.5 points as No. 2-ranked Concordia won both its games last week to remained undefeated and to move into a tie for first-place in the GSAC. For the week, he was 17-for-26 (.654) from the field, including 3-for-5 from 3-point range, and 6-for-7 (.857) at the line. In the win against Bates ME, Johnson had 18 points, 2 rebounds and 2 assists. In the win against GSAC opponent Azusa Pacific, he had 25 points and 4 rebounds. Johnson has tallied double-digits in 12 straight games, including 11 games with 15 or more points.

      • Senior – 5-9 – Guard – San Diego, Calif.
      • Senior Marlon King poured in a total of 36 points in 2 games last week, including a career-high 25 points, to lead NAIA No. 5-ranked Biola to a pair of GSAC wins. For the week, he shot 13-for-21 (.619) from the field, including 3-for-6 (.500) from 3-point range. The senior scored 25 points, added 6 steals, 5 assists and 4 rebounds to lead Biola to an 85-69 win at Azusa Pacific. King then closed out the week with 11 points, adding 3 assists, 2 steals and 2 rebounds as Biola defeated San Diego Christian and improved its winning streak to 15-0 on the season and to 5-0 in GSAC play.

      • Reggie Owens – Azusa Pacific
      • Junior – 6-6 – Center – Memphis, Tenn.
      • Junior Reggie Owens registered 30 points (15.0 ppg), 14 rebounds (7.0 rpg) and 3 assists as Azusa Pacific won both of its GSAC games last week. For the week, he shot 9-for-18 (.500) from the field and 12-for-15 (.800) at the free throw line. Owens scored the game’s final 6 points in the last 40 seconds, including 2 free throws with 0.9 seconds left, to lift Azusa Pacific to a 75-73 victory at No. 7 and defending GSAC champion Fresno Pacific. The center came off the bench to score all 10 of his points in the second half. Against Vanguard, he scored a team-high 20 points which included the go-ahead basket with 31 seconds left in the game. Again Owens came off the bench and scored 13 points in the second half to lead Azusa Pacific back from a 13-point deficit.

      • Senior center Rocky Hampton scored 37 points (18.5 ppg), grabbed 23 rebounds (11.5 rpg), blocked 5 shots and had 2 steals as No. 4-ranked Biola won both of its GSAC games last week against teams receiving votes in the national ratings. For the week, he was 16-for-21 (.762) from the field and 5-for-7 (.714) at the free throw line. In the win over The Master’s, Hampton notched a double-double, scoring 18 points and adding 14 rebounds. He shot 9-of-11 to score 19 points and had 9 rebounds in the win at California Baptist.

      • Junior – 6-4 – Guard – Brockport, N.Y.
      • Junior guard Tyler Mutton averaged 17 points and 4 rebounds as San Deigo Christian split its GSAC games against Top-25 teams. For the week, he made 10 field goals, including 6 from 3-point range, and was 8-for-9 at the charity stripe. Mutton scored 23 points and grabbed 5 rebounds in the Hawks’ upset of No. 2-ranked Concordia, handing the Eagles their first loss of the season. He scored 11 points and had 3 rebounds in the loss at No. 22 Westmont.

      • Senior guard James Lewis had 51 points (25.5 ppg), 8 rebounds, 6 assists and 5 steals as Fresno Pacific won both of its conference games last week by 20 points each. For the week, he shot 20-for-35 (.571) from the field, including 6-for-14 (.429) from the 3-point arc, and 5-for-6 (.833) at the free throw line. In the 81-61 upset of No. 3-ranked Biola, Lewis had 20 points, 4 rebounds and 2 steals. In the 83-63 win at Point Loma Nazarene, he had 31 points, 5 assists, 4 rebounds, and 3 steals.

For the week, the guard shot 22-for-31 (.710) from the field, including 7-for-10 (.700) from 3-point range, and 12-for-13 (.923) at the free throw line. In the win against Hope International, Scott had 28 points on 9-for-12 shooting, 4 assists and 2 steals. In the loss at Fresno Pacific, he had 35 points on 13-for-19 shooting including 5 made 3-pointers, 6 rebounds and 3 assists.

In Concordia’s homecoming win over No. 4 Biola, Johnson had 21 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 steals. Johnson is third in the conference averaging 17.2 points per game on the season.
