Junior Andrew Douglas was 10-for-21 (.476) at the plate with 2 doubles, 4 home runs and 13 RBI as Fresno Pacific won 3 out of 4 games against Biola last week. Douglas was 6-for-8 with 2 doubles, 3 home runs and 9 RBI in the high-scoring 31-19 win at Biola in the first game. In the doubleheader sweep over Biola in Fresno, he had 4 hits, 3 runs, a home run and 3 RBI.

Freshman Jesse Arreola made his second career start, his first since Feb. 5, and went 8 strong innings in a win for No. 5 California Baptist over No. 11 Vanguard. In the game Arreola gave up 6 hits, 5 of which were singles, and 1 earned run while striking out 6. His longest prior outing was 4 innings. He leads his team in appearances with all but 2 in relief situations.

Freshman outfielder Rachel Miller of Azusa Pacific hit a 2-run home run, her third of the season, in the 4-0 victory over Hope International and then hit a 2-out single in the top of the seventh to score the game’s only run in the Cougars’ 1-0 victory over No. 8-ranked Point Loma Nazarene. For the week, she was 6-for-8 (.750) at the plate with a home run and 5 RBI.
 

Softball Pitcher of the Week

Irvine, Calif.

Freshman Rita Kim did not give up a run in 11.1 innings of work last week while striking out 10 batters, leading Azusa Pacific to a pair of victories, including a complete-game shutout of No. 8-ranked Point Loma Nazarene. She came within 2 outs of a perfect 5-inning game against Hope International. The opponents batted .158 vs. Kim for the week.
