For the first time, the GSAC has sent
2 teams to the NAIA Baseball World Series. GSAC Champion
Point Loma Nazarene and
Fresno Pacific each won their respective NAIA Opening Round Tournaments to qualify for the Avista-NAIA World Series in Lewiston, Idaho, May 22-29. The No. 3 seed,
Point Loma Nazarene is the only remaining undefeated team in the double-elimination tournament and advances to the championship game against No. 1 seed Lubbock Christian TX at 7 pm on Thursday, May 28. The second championship game will be played on Friday, May 29, if necessary. Point Loma defeated Lubbock Christian 2-1 in an earlier round on Tuesday. Azusa Pacific Men's Track & Field Team
Azusa Pacific won the 2009 NAIA Men’s Outdoor Track & Field Championship. This was the 15th championship for the Cougars.
Coach Kevin Reid of Azusa Pacific was named
NAIA Men’s Track & Field Coach of the Year. On the women’s side,
Natasha Miller of Biola scored 30 points in the meet and received the

California Baptist Softball Team

Fresno Pacific Men's Tennis Team
Fresno Pacific won the NAIA men’s tennis championship by defeating 3-time defending champ Auburn-Montgomery AL 5-3. It is the Sunbirds first-ever national title in tennis. To read more, go to

California Baptist advancing to the semifinals, and
Azusa Pacific,
Concordia and
Vanguard all advancing to the quarterfinals. In women’s tennis, the same 6 GSAC teams competed at nationals.

Point Loma Nazarene and
