Westmont Coach Dave Wolf & Azusa Pacific Coach Phil Wolf
The GSAC Men’s Soccer Championship was more than just a game. Sixth-seeded Westmont travelled to top-seeded and defending national champion Azusa Pacific for a Monday, November 17 game after fire closed the Westmont campus. The game was not just between conference rivals, but also between family. The Westmont Warriors are coached by Dave Wolf while the Azusa Pacific Cougars are coached by his brother Phil Wolf. The fire that damaged Westmont’s campus added a new dimension to the game. To read the complete story by LA Times writer Bill Plaschke, go to www.naia.org.
