The All-GSAC softball team has been announced. Katie Cotta and Jasmin Dresser were named GSAC Pitcher and Player of the Year, respectively, while their coach, Crystal Rosenthal received Coach of the Year honors after leading NAIA No. 1-ranked Concordia to an undefeated conference season and the GSAC regular-season championship. The team also won the GSAC-Cal Pac Softball Tournament and earned the conference's automatic bid to an NAIA Softball National Championship Opening Round, May 13-15.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Katie Cotta of Concordia (Calif.) has been tabbed as the NAIA National Softball Pitcher of the Week and Amanda Neumann of Bellevue (Neb.) has been named the NAIA National Softball Player of the Week, the national office announced Tuesday. The duo was chosen based on their performances from April 22 – 28 out of a pool of conference player of the week selections among 21 conference/independent/unaffiliated groupings.

[Softball] Royals Pull Off Huge Comeback to Stay in Playoffs

Irvine, CA - Down 8-1 after two innings, Hope International pulled off a dramatic 11-8 comeback win over Vanguard in the GSAC- Cal Pac playoffs on Thursday at Concordia. Senior Janelle Medor homered in the second inning to open the scoring and Sophomore Stephanie Froussine drilled a two-run home run to account for the game winning runs. Medor and Junior Adi Lopez both went 3-5 in the game.

COSTA MESA, Calif. – Vanguard swept Golden State Athletic Conference foe Hope International in its final regular season doubleheader to finish on a positive note at 34-22 overall and 10-6 in league play. Conversely, the Royals drop to 29-21 (7-9 GSAC) with the 5-0 and 3-1 losses. With the wins, Vanguard clinches the second place slot in the 2013 GSAC standings.

Fullerton, CA- Hope International pulled off two comebacks, including being down 10-2 in game one, to sweep Biola 12-11 and 8-6 on a breezy Tuesday afternoon. Junior Lauren Ackerson was 3-5 on the day with five walks, two home runs (including a walk off in game one), a double, five RBI, and four runs scored. Senior Janelle Medor was 5-8 with a double, two runs, and two RBI playing in her final two games in front of the home fans at Craig Park.
