GSAC Players of the Week January 14, 2008   WOMEN'S BASKETBALL PLAYER MELISSA COOK ~ Vanguard University Senior ~ 6-0 ~ Guard/Forward ~ Placentia, California Senior Melissa Cook averaged 21 points and 9 rebounds as No. 3-ranked Vanguard won both of its conference games last week.  For the week, she made 12-for-23 (.522) shots from the field, including 6-for-11 (.545) from 3-point range. She was also 12-for-13 (.923) at the line. In the win over Concordia, Cook recorded a double-double, with 21 points and 10 rebounds, as well as 2 assists and 2 steals.  In the victory at Westmont, she had 21 points and 8 rebounds.   MEN'S BASKETBALL PLAYER ERIC DURSO ~ The Master's College Senior ~ 6-5 ~ Forward ~ Simi Valley, California Senior Eric Durso recorded 2 double-doubles averaging 22 points and 12.5 rebounds as The Master's split its GSAC games last week.  For the week, he shot 15-for-24 (.625) from the field, including 8-for-14 (.571) from the 3-point arc, and 6-for-7 (.857) at the free throw line.  In the loss at Biola, he scored a career-high 25 points, grabbed 10 rebounds, and dished out 3 assists.  In the upset of No. 9-ranked Point Loma Nazarene, Durso registered 19 points, a career-high 15 rebounds, and 4 assists.  Durso has notched 7 double-doubles on the year, including the past 3 in succession.
