The Golden State Athletic Conference has earned the NAIA Champions of Character Five-Star Award for the 2011-12 season.
Six GSAC schools received the honor for their institution: Arizona Christian, Biola, Concordia, Hope International, Vanguard and Westmont.
Institutions are measured on a demonstrated commitment to Champions of Character and earned points in character training, conduct in competition, academic focus, character recognition and character promotion. Institutions earned points based on exceptional student-athlete grade point averages and by obtaining zero ejections during competition throughout the course of the academic year.
More than 80% of NAIA member institutions and all member conferences were named to the Five-Star list.
