VERANIA WILLIS ~ California Baptist University

Sophomore ~ 6-0 ~ Outside Hitter ~ San Jose, Costa Rica
Sophomore outside hitter Verania Willis recorded 68 kills (5.2 k/g) with a .384 hitting percentage, 21 digs (1.6 d/g), 8 blocks (4 solo), and 7 aces as California Baptist defeated all 4 of its opponents, including 3 teams ranked in the NAIA Top 20.   In the win over No. 19 Savannah Art & Design GA, Willis had 16 kills and 5 digs.  In the win against No. 11 Southern Oregon, she had 25 kills.  Against Carroll MT, she had 15 kills, 6 aces and 8 digs.  Finally in the sweep of No. 9 Georgetown KY, Willis had 12 kills, 7 digs and 4 blocks (3 solo).  Willis was selected as the NAIA Region II Volleyball Player of the Week.

Senior ~ 5-9 ~ Setter ~ Auburn, California
Senior setter Amber Donovan, tallied 197 assists (14.1 a/g), as Westmont won all 5 of its matches last week.  She also had 24 digs, 9 kills, 3 aces and 7 blocks (1 solo).  She had 45 assists and 6 digs in the win over Westminster UT.  In the matches that were part of the Crowne Labor Day Festival at Concordia, Donovan averaged 15.2 assists and 1.8 digs per game.  Some of her highlights from the tournament were 49 assists (24.5 a/g) in 2 games of the sweep of Bethany and 12 digs (3.0 d/g) in the match with Holy Names.  Donovan was chosen as the NAIA Region II Volleyball Setter of the Week.

MALINDA REESE

Sophomore ~ 5-7 ~ Libero ~ San Carlos, California
Sophomore Malinda Reese averaged 6.24 digs per game with a .944 passing percentage in Westmont's 5 wins last week. In the win over visiting Westminster UT, she had 29 digs (7.3 d/g).  Then in the 4 tournament matches, Reese totaled 77 digs including an average of 7.7 digs against Redlands and 8.0 digs against Holy Names.  Reese was named the NAIA Region II Volleyball Player of the Week.

KELSEY VOETMANN ~

Junior ~ 5-11 ~ Outside Hitter ~ Lynnwood, WA
Junior outside hitter Kelsey Voetmann recorded 37 kills (5.3 k/g), with a .329 hitting percentage, 12 digs (1.7 d/g), 9 aces and 3 assist blocks as Westmont won both GSAC games last week and improved their overall record to 10-2.  In the sweep of Hope International, she had 16 kills (5.3 k/g), 5 digs and 4 aces.   Voetmann had 21 kills, 7 digs, and 5 aces as Westmont went on to upset No. 5-ranked Concordia in 4 close games.  Voetmann was chosen as the NAIA Region II Women's Volleyball Player of the Week.

Freshman ~ 5-10 ~ Setter ~ Irvine, California
Freshman setter Allison Kincheloe tallied 129 assists (14.3 a/g), 22 digs (2.4 d/g), 3 kills and 3 blocks (1 solo) as No. 11-ranked Azusa Pacific swept all 3 of its opponents last week.  She had 46 assists at San Diego Christian, 40 assists against Embry-Riddle AZ, and 43 assists and 13 digs against Point Loma Nazarene.  Kincheloe was selected as the NAIA Region II Women's Volleyball Setter of the Week.

Senior ~ 5-7 ~ Libero ~ Bellflower, California
Senior Keri DeHaas registered 138 digs (8.12 d/g) and 13 aces as Vanguard won 4 of its 5 matches last week. In the Pacific Coast Classic hosted by Pomona-Pitzer, DeHaas totaled 97 digs and 8 aces as Vanguard defeated all 4 of its opponents.  DeHaas was named the NAIA Region II Women's Volleyball Libero of the Week.

Sophomore outside hitter Verania Willis tallied 37 kills (6.1 k/g), with a .429 hitting percentage, 14 digs (2.3 d/g), and 11 blocks (3 solo) as No. 3-ranked California Baptist won both of its matches last week.  In the sweep of No. 22 Vanguard, she had 18 kills and 6 blocks (2 solo).  In the 3-game victory at No. 19 Biola, Willis had 19 kills, 8 digs and 5 blocks (1 solo).  Willis has hit over .400 in 5 for her last 9 matches played this year.  She has reached double figures in kills in all 9 matches, including 18 in the past 5 consecutive matches. Willis was named the NAIA Women's Volleyball Player of the Week.

Sophomore ~ 5-10 ~ Setter ~ Ripon, California
Freshman setter Kayla Van Duyn recorded 77 assists (12.8 a/g), 9 digs, 1 ace and 3 assist blocks as California Baptist defeated 2 nationally-ranked GSAC opponents last week.  In the win over Vanguard, she had 37 assists, 8 digs and 3 assist blocks.  In the victory at Biola, Van Duyn had 40 assists (13.3 a/g).  Van Duyn was chosen as the NAIA Region II Women's Volleyball Setter of the Week.
