WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL PLAYER
ROCHELLE SHORT ~ Point Loma Nazarene University
Senior ~ 6-1 ~ Middle Blocker ~ Stockton, California
Last week Rochelle Short averaged 5.5 kills with a .412 hitting percentage, 2.25 digs, 1.5 blocks and 0.6 aces as No. 6-ranked Point Loma Nazarene defeated 2 teams who received votes in the NAIA preseason rankings. In the 5-game win against Notre Dame de Namur, she recorded 29 kills, 12 digs and 8 blocks (3 solo).  In the 3-game sweep of Carroll MT, Short had 15 kills and 4 aces.  For her play, she was named the MVP of the Azusa Pacific Invitational and the NAIA Region II Volleyball Player of the Week.
 
WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL SETTER
CORRIE WALL ~ Christian Heritage College
Junior ~ 5-11 ~ Setter ~ Arvada, Colorado
Corrie Wall recorded 97 assists, 18 digs, 3 blocks (2 solo) and 2 aces as Christian Heritage won both of its matches last week.  In the first GSAC match of the season at California Baptist, she had 54 assists. In the win over Alliant International, Wall had 43 assists, 9 digs and 2 solo blocks.

Senior ~ 6-1 ~ Middle Blocker ~ Stockton, California
Rochelle Short recorded 41 kills (5.86 per game), 18 digs, and 8 blocks (2 solo) with a .486 kills percentage as No. 5-ranked Point Loma won its first 2 conference matches of the season and remain undefeated overall.  In the win over No. 8-ranked Biola, Short averaged 7 kills, 2.8 digs, and 1.2 blocks.  In the win against Vanguard, she had 4.3 kills per game with a .722 kill percentage.  Short was named the NAIA Region II Women's Volleyball Player of the Week for the second consecutive week.
 
WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL SETTER
LISA ENNS ~ Fresno Pacific University
Junior ~ 5-7 ~ Setter ~ Fresno, California
Lisa Enns recorded 94 assists, 19 digs, 8 assist blocks and an ace as No. 1-ranked Fresno Pacific won both of its matches last week and remains undefeated.  In the win against The Master's, she averaged 10 assists and 2.2 digs per game.  In the win at No. 10-ranked Westmont, Enns had 11 assists and 1.5 assist blocks per game. Enns was chosen as the NAIA Region II Women's Volleyball Setter of the Week.

    Junior ~ 6-1 ~ Middle Blocker ~ Sanger, California
    Mesha Wimer recorded 37 kills (3.7 k/g), 14 digs, 6 aces and 10 blocks (2 solo) with a .466 kill percenteage as No. 2-ranked Fresno Pacific remained undefeated with 3 wins last week.  In the win against CS Stanislaus, she had 8 kills and 4 aces.  Against No. 5-ranked Point Loma Nazarene, Wimer had 21 kills with a .514 kill percentage, 5 digs and 5 blocks (1 solo).  Then against Christian Heritage, she had 8 kills with no errors for a .500 hitting percentage. Wimer was chosen as the NAIA Region II Women's Volleyball Player of the Week.
     
    WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL SETTER
    LISA ENNS ~ Fresno Pacific University
    Junior ~ 5-7 ~ Setter ~ Fresno, California
    Lisa Enns recorded 119 assists, 29 digs, 3 kills, 3 assist blocks and an ace to help Fresno Pacific defeat one non-conference and two GSAC teams last week.  In the win against CS Stanislaus, she had 10 assists per game and 2.7 digs per game.  In the win over No. 5-ranked conference foe Point Loma Nazarene, Enns had 57 assists (14.2 a/g), 13 digs and 2 kills.  Finally, against Christian Heritage, she had 32 assists. Enns was selected as the NAIA Region II Women's Volleyball Setter for the second consecutive week.

    Senior ~ 6-3 ~ Outside Hitter ~ Shen Yang, China
    The 2002 GSAC Co-Player of the Year Lin Gao tallied 22 kills (4.4 k/g), with a .382 kill percentage, 23 digs and 3 assist blocks as Fresno Pacific extended its winning streak to 20 straight. In the victory at No. 8-ranked Biola, she had 17 kills (5.7 k/g), 13 digs and 2 assist blocks. Gao played in 2 games of the 3-game sweep of Vanguard and registered 5 kills and 10 digs. Gao was chosen as the NAIA Region II Women's Volleyball Player of the Week.
