PLAYERS OF THE WEEK

JOHNNY ALCARAZ ~ Westmont College
Junior ~ 6-1 ~ Forward ~ Santa Barbara, CA
Junior forward Johnny Alcaraz recorded 2
goals and 2 assists as unranked Westmont defeated 2 nationally ranked
teams in the Westmont Heritage Club Classic. Alcaraz scored a goal
and assisted on another as Westmont upset No. 7-ranked Oklahoma Baptist.
He had a repeat performance in the win over No. 6 Hastings NE with 1 goal
and 1 assist. In both contests, Alcaraz set up the game-winning goal.
Alcaraz was selected as the NAIA
Region II
Men's Soccer Player of the Week.

Junior ~ 6-1 ~ Forward ~ Ruesselsheim, Germany
Junior forward Sven Simon scored 3 goals
last week as No. 1-ranked Azusa Pacific defeated 2 NAIA Top 25 teams on the road.
In the 4-2 victory over No. 8-ranked Auburn-Montgomery, he scored 2 goals.
In the 2-0 win at No. 22 Mobile AL, Simon scored 1 goal. Simon has
recorded 5 goals and 2 assists in Azusa Pacific's season-opening 4-game
winning streak against NAIA ranked teams. Simon was chosen as the
NAIA Men's Soccer Player of the Week.

Junior ~ 5-11 ~ Forward ~ Torrance, California
Junior forward Daniel Ybarra scored a goal
and had 2 assists as Vanguard won both of its games last week.
In the 5-0 win against Chapman, Ybarra recorded a goal and an assist.
In the 1-0 victory over Westminster, he assisted on the game-winning goal.
