Freshman ~ Midfielder ~ Norco, California
Freshman Jason Van Broekhuizen
scored 2 goals and assisted on 2 others as California Baptist
won all 3 of its games last week. In the win at CS Hayward he
recorded 2 goals. In the Lancers' only home game Van Broekhuizen
assisted on both goals to hand CS San Bernardino its first loss
of the season. Van Broekhuizen was selected as the NAIA Region
II Men's Soccer Player of the Week.

MATT HESS

Freshman ~ Forward ~ Fullerton, California
Matt Hess scored 4 of the
Lions' 7 goals last weekend at the Vanguard Soccer Classic. Only
eleven minutes into the 3-0 win over Menlo, he connected on a
corner kick. The following night Hess recorded his first collegiate
hat trick, charging the Lions to a 4-0 win and their second consecutive
shutout.

BRUEGGEMAN ~ The Master's College
Senior ~ Forward ~ Glendale, Arizona
Anthon Brueggeman scored
2 goals and assisted on the game-winner as No. 3-ranked The Master's
came from behind to beat No. 10-ranked Westmont 4-3 on the road.
Westmont led 3-0 at one point in the first half. Then the Mustangs
came roaring back in the second half and scored their final 3
goals in less than 8 minutes. It was just the second win for
The Master's in the last 14 meetings with Westmont and the first
time a team has scored more than 3 goals against the Warriors
since 1995. Brueggeman was selected as the NAIA Region II Men's
Soccer Player of the Week.

ORLANDO
RAMIREZ ~ Fresno Pacific University
Freshman ~ Striker ~ Fresno, California
Orlando Ramirez recorded
9 points last week with 2 goals and 5 assists as Fresno Pacific
won all 3 of its games. In the 7-1 win over Hope International
he scored 1 goal and assisted on another 4 goals to break the
Sunbirds' 10-year-old record for assists in a game formerly held
by Ramirez' uncle, Fresno Pacific assistant coach Joel Ramirez.
Orlando also scored 1 goal and assisted on another in the Sunbirds'
4-3 overtime win at Point Loma Nazarene. The Sunbirds defeated
CS Hayward 2-1 earlier in the week. Ramirez was chosen as the
NAIA Region II Men's Soccer Player of the Week.

ROBERT
TURNER ~ California Baptist University
Junior ~ Goalkeeper ~ Upland, California
Robert Turner had 10 saves
and recorded 2 shutouts against Vanguard and Fresno Pacific to
bring his shutout streak to 3 as Cal Baptist improved its record
to 10-1. In the win against Fresno Pacific he had 8 saves. Turner
has been the starting goalie in all 7 of Cal Baptist's shutouts
this season. He was chosen as the NAIA Region II Men's Soccer
Player of the Week.

NICK HAMMOND
~ Fresno Pacific University
Junior ~ Goalkeeper ~ Fresno, California
Nick Hammond recorded 12
saves in 212 minutes of play as Fresno Pacific defeated both
of its GSAC opponents last week. In the Sunbirds' 1-0 overtime
victory at No. 1-ranked and previously undefeated The Master's,
Hammond made 8 saves and recorded a shutout. He also made a stop
on a penalty shot in the first half. He added 4 saves in Fresno
Pacific's win against Christian Heritage. Hammond was also chosen
as the NAIA Men's Soccer
Player of the Week.

MARK OEHLMAN

Junior ~ Forward ~ Irvine, California
Last week Mark Oehlman
recorded 3 goals and 2 assists as No. 6-ranked Westmont won both
GSAC games and extended its win streak to 7. In the win at Hope
International, he scored 2 goals and assisted on another. In
the win against Point Loma Nazarene, Oehlman recorded 1 goal
and 1 assist.

Freshman Matt Hess recorded
3 goals and 3 assists as Vanguard won both of its GSAC games
last week. In the come-from-behind 4-3 victory against Point
Loma Nazarene, Hess assisted on 1 goal and then scored the game
winner with less than 5 minutes remaining in regulation. In the
win at Hope International, he scored 2 goals and assisted on
2 others. Hess was chosen as the NAIA Region II Men's Soccer
Player of the Week.
